What’s in your soul?
I remember a time of darkness that I was in some years back. During that time I would paint…a lot! It was very comforting to me, but my paintings were not flowers and bunnies. Instead, they were very dark and uncomfortable for people to look at. When I look back on that season, I realize my gifts and talents were reflections of what was in my soul: darkness and pain.God tells us to bring what we have and he will make it over flow. He not only wants your heart, mind, and soul, but He also wants your talents, your gifts, and even your pain. Give those to Jesus and watch what He will do with them! His very first miracle was turning ordinary water into extraordinary wine.
John 2:1-11 records what many call the “Miracle at Cana”. Jesus and His disciples are invited to a wedding at Cana. During the celebration, the host family ran out of wine. This would be a huge embarrassment to the groom and his family. Jesus, at the request of His mother, steps in and transforms water in to the best wine the guests had ever had.
Why would Jesus create the best wine for people that don’t even care? Because everything God makes is the best! When God gets involved it’s always the best!
So as you go about your day today remember that God is the artisan that created us. You are a work of art, but now it’s time to be an artist at work.
Dream, risk, and create whatever God puts on your soul. What has God put in your heart to do?
